Infant Childcare Program
It’s amazing how much infants learn every day. They see, listen, touch, taste and feel when they’re awake and even learn while they are sleeping. At KidsFirst, our infant childcare program reflects that we are keenly aware of the responsibility we have to do all we can to help our infants grow, thrive and learn during this important stage of their lives.
The Importance of Trust
We know how hard it is to leave your infant while you are at work. Our experienced staff works with parents and delights in bonding with your child to meet your infant’s social-emotional needs. We care for infants in a warm, affectionate way that lets each child know that they are a unique and special person. There are a lot of hugs and kisses in the infant room!
We will consult with you to keep your infant on the same schedule that you have created for them at home. We know how important it is to be consistent with an infant’s schedule so that your infant is calm and relaxed at home and at the center.
Our Learning Approach
We provide a safe and sanitary environment that infants can freely explore using all their senses. There are activities that develop an infant’s gross motor skills like rolling over, sitting up, crawling, standing and eventually walking. Fine motor skills will also be developed by encouraging infants to pick up toys and grasp objects. We sing, look at books, and talk with the infants through their day to encourage language development. We carefully select toys that stimulate and challenge your infant, but are careful not to over-stimulate him/her.
Some of the activities for this age group include scooting on the floor, looking in a reflective mirror and reaching for objects to grasp.
Infant Curriculum
We use the Funshine Express curriculum, even for our tiniest infants. Funshine Express is a national leader in childcare learning. The curriculum is based on current research and sound educational theories of early childhood learning and development. The program’s learning goals and objectives meet the New York State Early Learning Guidelines.
We will involve your child in daily activities to develop gross and fine motor skills, as well as provide music, language, art, cognitive, social, and sensory experiences.
The KidsFirst Circle of Care
The KidsFirst Childcare Circle of Care is our philosophy in which staff and parents work together, with God, to create a loving community that provides the best learning environment for each child. We value the Christian principles of love, patience, integrity and good citizenship to support each child and help him/her grow in body, mind and spirit.
